1. Visit the Beautiful Beaches
When it comes to 30A, the star of the show is obviously the beach! With white sand and crystal clear water, you’ll want to spend a large portion of your vacation relaxing in the Florida sunshine. Grayton Beach State Park was recently named the best beach in America by Dr. Stephen Leatherman (aka Dr. Beach) and we can see why!
2. Stroll Through the Charming Beach Towns
Along 30A you’ll find a variety of beach towns, each with their own unique characteristics. Check out the shops in elegant Rosemary Beach, get a snack from the Airstream trailers in Seaside or visit the funky, eclectic spots in Grayton Beach.
3. Watch the Sunset
The best way to end your beach day is by watching the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy the stunning scenery from your 30A vacation rental, the beach, or a waterfront restaurant.

6. Check Out the Rare Coastal Dune Lakes
South Walton is home to 15 coastal dune lakes. The fresh water lakes sit just a few feet from the Gulf’s salt water, separated only by a natural berm of sand. If the water levels in the lake get too high, it will pour into the Gulf of Mexico creating an “outfall.” Saltwater will also travel into the lake and mix to form a brackish ecosystem. This rare natural phenomenon only occurs in a handful of locations throughout the world and 30A is one of them.
7. Go for a Bike Ride

8. Shop at the Local Farmers Markets
Whether you’re looking for fresh produce or just want to take a scenic stroll through the bustling beach communities, check out the weekly farmers markets in Seaside and Rosemary Beach. You’ll find fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade salsas, artisan bread, treats for your pets, cold pressed juices and more.
9. Try a New Restaurant
From local seafood and prime steaks to sweet treats and Southern fare, there are numerous dining options along 30A. If you’re traveling with your pup, here are some pet-friendly restaurants on 30A.
10. Stand Up Paddle Boarding
If you’re looking to get out on the water, stand up paddle boarding is a great option. Take advantage of calm Gulf waters or stay inland and explore one of the coastal dune lakes.

Point Washington State Forest is home to a variety of trails, including a 3.5-, 5- and 10-mile loop. Hikers have the opportunity to explore the unique ecosystems and keep an eye out for rare species of plants and animals.
12. Beach Bonfire

Some 2021 events, like the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K will be virtual, but there are numerous opportunities to get outside and get some exercise! The 30A 10K on Thanksgiving is another popular race.
17. Sip on Local Beers
Craft beer fans have several nearby breweries to choose from including Idyll Hounds and Grayton Beer Company. If you want to stay right on 30A, Beach & Brew on 30A in Seacrest Beach and Growler Garage in Blue Mountain Beach both offer a wide selection of beers to suit your style.
18. Go Fishing
